May 2013 marks the 20th anniversary of Degraaf Interiors, which was started by Daryll DeGraaf in 1993. After working 15 years in the flooring industry, he used his passion and expertise to open the original DeGraaf Interiors. DeGraaf Interiors has grown exponentially, and it’s owners attribute their success to the blessings of God and to the hard work of their employees. DeGraaf Interiors has expanded from 1 location to 3 locations in West Michigan, and has grown from 1 employee to a workforce of more than 20 people, as well as 40 sub-contractors. Milestones in DeGraaf’s history include:
- 1995 – 1st employee was hired
- 1996 – both stores moved into a new building on Port Sheldon Rd
- 2003 – broke ties with other floor covering store
- 2003 – moved to the current location on 28th Ave in Hudsonville
- 2003 – purchased Kemp Floor Covering and hired all existing employees
- 2003 – opened 2nd location, a Stainmaster Flooring Center on Plainfield Ave
- 2011 – opened 3rd location, the Shaw Design Center on East Paris Ave
